Accurate Shop-Floor Measurement From Bowers

Bowers Metrology has recently launched the Intex range of shop-floor proof comparator gauges. Specifically designed for the accurate in-process measurement of large internal and external diameters on components that are located within machine tools, Intex gauges are ideal for gauging parts such as aerospace engine rings and seals.

The ingenious new Bowers range is based on a rigid hollow aluminium extruded beam; rendering the new instruments lighter, stronger and more accurate than traditional beam gauges, whilst considerably reducing their potential for thermal expansion, deflection and inducing operator fatigue.

Available in sizes from 200mm – 1000mm, with larger models available on application, the flexible Intex range can be fitted with a wide selection of contact points, enabling awkward features such as grooves and undercuts to be easily accessed. The new Bowers gauges can be supplied fitted with either a traditional analogue indicator or digital indicator with the ability to send gathered data ‘wirelessly’ to data collection devices, printers etc.

Designed to be quickly and accurately set from a reference master, Bowers cost effective new gauge range can be converted to operate from an internal measuring mode to an external mode, and back again, in a matter of seconds.
